Anti-Asian hate crimes reported in Canada have drastically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic where racism and false ideas about the spread of the virus have fuelled the unnecessary abuse.

The purpose of this Youth Stop Asian Hate Project is to give back to youth who have impacted their community and or school by contributing to the prevention of anti-Asian hate and the spread of compassion and kindness.

​

The Stop Asian Hate Youth Award, one award of $200, will be given to a deserving BC lower mainland secondary student who has strongly demonstrated that their project or projects have made a positive impact on their Asian community. Also, Empower The Future (ETF) will have five $20 prizes to be randomly raffled off to the rest of all of the participating student applicants.
