DIVERSITY IN STEM

Learn about STEM programs and why students should get involved in STEM careers

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Project includes workshops and mentorship activities with presentations, resource packages, and workbooks to help encourage inner city BIPOC and female identifying students in pursuing STEM fields.

The workshops cover 5 core topics around STEM fields and higher education:

  • dealing with financial stress

  • learning about post-secondary education

  • entering the workforce

  • volunteering and its benefits

  • and taking care of yourself

The workshop is filled with discussions such as question and answer periods and activities such as guessing the estimated cost for post-secondary school in STEM fields. Another  portion of the project is to do outreach work to discuss key resources for individuals underrepresented in STEM field.

DISCOVER STEM E-BOOK

Discover STEM covers a range of topics for students interested in STEM fields. Students may have questions about the kinds of programs available, financial support, and different post-secondary institutions. We reached out to students in STEM fields to share their experience and advice for you! We aim to empower students to pursue STEM fields, especially minority groups that are considered to be traditionally underrepresented in STEM education and careers.
